Amongst the best

PFERD honoured as one of “the best training providers” – training remains an important basis for developing the workforce.

“Whoever produces ‘the best’ must be amongst the best themselves,” said Michael Sallmann, Managing Director of the Oberberg branch of the Industrie- und Handelskammer (Chamber of Commerce and Industry), when handing over the certificate. There to receive it were PFERD HR Director Frank Wenderoth and Matthias Huster, Head of Operational Personnel Management at the family business based in Marienheide. Three of the tool manufacturer’s apprentices had previously attended this year’s “best trainee” ceremony, which took place in Cologne. Sallmann states that the certificate, which has now been awarded, recognizes the organizations providing training, because to help the apprentices perform to a standard that is above average, they must do the same.

Frank Wenderoth and Matthias Huster thanked Managing Director of the Oberberg branch of the Industrie- und Handelskammer (Chamber of Commerce and Industry), and emphasized the importance of PFERD’s training to the business. “We are delighted to receive this award, as it demonstrates that our training can impress in terms of quality, including in comparison with other companies,” says Wenderoth. “The excellent performance of our apprentices proves to us that we are continuing to produce qualified personnel for ourselves and our company, which is an important requirement in ensuring robust development of our company’s workforce,” added Huster.

In winter 2020/2021 and summer 2021, a total of 9,855 young men and women sat their final exams in approximately 150 different disciplines in the training organizations in Oberberg, Cologne, Leverkusen, Rhein-Erft and Rhein-Berg. 506 of the apprentices received “best trainee” awards as part of a ceremony. Afterwards, the training organizations received their corresponding awards.
